Hey, I’m Shaun.
Welcome to my newsletter.
I’m a vlogger and independent journalist from Scotland, and in recent times, I’ve been inspired by my time in the USA following an unexpected invitation to the country. More about that in a moment.
For now, I’m using this space to document my pursuit of the American Dream, share stories of Americana, as well as the interesting places, good food and good people I have come across when visiting the US.
And while my name is Shaun Alexander, that’s also the name of a former pro NFL star, so as you can imagine, the domains were taken. Shaun Alxndr was available.
If you’re new here, please do subscribe, and you can also upgrade to being a paid subscriber to get access to my exclusive video series.
In 2014, having worked as a journalist in my early 20s, I picked up a video camera and started to film things, taking inspiration from other vloggers I admired.
I filmed my travels, the things I saw and the people I met - posting them on my ‘shaunvlog’ YouTube channel.
Then, in 2017, I was invited by the United States Embassy to London, to go on a tour of the USA called ‘Exploring American Values’.
This trip opened my mind, kick starting a personal love affair with the United States which burns bright inside me until today, and serves as an anchor for my content.
Through this Newsletter, I will be sharing my experiences and thoughts that I hope you will find interesting, amusing, and perhaps curious.
Great to have you here!
Shaun
